8. DePaul Catholic | Passaic County
Sports: Baseball
Record: 16-7
YSSR Take: A private-school baseball mover that deserves more statewide attention entering states.

9. Governor Livingston | Union County
Sports: Baseball / Softball
Record: 18-4 (Baseball)
YSSR Take: One of the steadier public-school winners in North Jersey built on toughness and consistency.

North Jersey Players & Programs Making Noise This Spring

1. Montclair State Baseball (31-9)
The Red Hawks hosted an NCAA Division III Regional at Yogi Berra Stadium and picked up their first NCAA Tournament win since 2008 with a 10-5 win over Whitworth. Their season ended after losses to Endicott (6-5) and Whitworth (7-1), but it was one of the strongest DIII baseball runs in the region.

2. Rutgers Baseball (25-28)
Rutgers made a late push to earn a Big Ten Tournament berth before falling to Michigan (10-0) and Ohio State (3-2) in Omaha. A solid close to a difficult Big Ten season.

3. Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse
One of the stronger postseason stories in the area. Rutgers knocked off Princeton 12-11 in the NCAA First Round before falling to Maryland 11-8 in the Second Round.

4. Ramapo Baseball (31-14)
Another strong NJAC season and another NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Ramapo tied for third in the NJAC (12-6) and continues to be one of North Jersey’s strongest DIII baseball programs.

5. Kean Baseball (31-13-1)
Kean quietly put together one of the stronger NJAC seasons this spring, finishing 12-6 in conference play. A steady regional baseball power.

6. Seton Hall Baseball (15-25)
A difficult Big East season, but strong local recruiting continues to keep this program relevant.

7. NJIT Baseball (15-27-1)
Still building in the America East, but heavy North Jersey recruiting remains a strength.

8. Montclair State Softball (26-15)
Another strong NJAC campaign with key contributors helping drive a winning season. Montclair remains one of the steadier DIII softball programs in the region.
